Transport and parking at Newcastle International Airport
Newcastle ’s Metro system provides 30-minute services from the airport to Newcastle Central and Gateshead stations, departing every 7 minutes during the day. Buses also provide excellent service, departing every 20 minutes from the airport to Eldon Square Bus Concourse in the city centre. National Express coaches connect the airport directly to major UK cities, while taxi services are readily available outside the terminal. A booking desk for both taxi and limousine services can be found inside the terminal building.
The airport is also easily reached by road via the A696. Excellent security monitors at the three parking options at Newcastle International Airport ensure safe parking. The Drop-Off Car Park is designed for dropping off and picking up passengers. It is situated right next to the terminal and is within easy walking distance. The Short-Stay Car Park is better suited for stays of one day or less and is also within easy walking distance of the terminal. For travellers planning to stay more than 4 days, the Long-Term Car Park is ideal. A free shuttle bus ferries passengers from the car park to the terminal and the car park is open and monitored 24 hours a day. However, this car park is often full, so pre-booking online is recommended. Disabled drivers will find designated parking spaces at each of the three car parks.
